Daphne McCorkle
19 Sept 2016 · Coroner Henrietta Hill QC · London Inner (South)
The coroner's concerns
1. pressure sores caused or worsened
“On the expert evidence, there will be cases where a patient should be tumed every 2/3 hours, even at night, to ensure that the risk of pressure sores being caused or worsened is properly managed.”
2. inability to turn patient
“family members will not be able to perform that task”
3. gap in nighttime care provision
“This leaves a gap in provision for some patients and is a concern”
